The original name of EQ2082 is 25Y. The early “25Y” adopted the “FAW” CA-30A powertrain and transmission axle to produce a prototype of a 2.5 ton load 6-wheel drive off-road truck (25Y for short). The 25Y and the late production EQ240 performance is basically the same. In the early trial production stage, the two models have some differences in appearance, radiator tank hood shape is different, front bumper set winch, and reserved for pedal holes.
In 1967, Dongfeng Motor Company (known as “China’s Second Automobile Factory”) held a grand foundation laying ceremony in Dafugou, Shiyan, Hubei Province. Since then, it has announced the advent of the era of independent creation of Chinese automobile, and Dongfeng Automobile has thus played a new era of independent creation of Chinese automobile industry.
Dongfeng has become one of the mainstream models in China, but the history of “second steam” is little known. How many difficult years have passed in the development of Dongfeng? After many times of searching information, let’s take a look at the gradual development and development of Dongfeng Company classic model EQ2082.
The later 25Y was basically fixed in appearance, noting the reserved boot hole in the bumper, which was completely eliminated on the later 240. Just because the 25Y prototype has rolled off the assembly line doesn’t mean the car is ready to go through a series of tests, experiments and modifications before it finally becomes a prototype.
After several variants, the first finished vehicle, the EQ240 (load 2.5 ton class) 6-wheel drive off-road truck, was produced in 1975. The rolling off of the 25Y means the PLA has one more choice of wheeled equipment.
